They do a great job keeping roots from clogging the system and make cleanup easier.
Definitely a useful upgrade for any Autopot setup.

I seem to always have some roots that make their way into the tray by the end of the run but you can always just cut them back so that they don’t mess with the aquavalve.
I have never run without them and I’m sure the roots would be unmanageable by the end of the run without them.
They will lose their copper color after 1 run but I’ve reused them up to 3 times.
I havent run them more than that to test their limits but for the price I’m ok with replacing them every 3-4 uses.
