Monterey B.t. is a biological insecticide based on the naturally occurring bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki for worm and caterpillar control.

When ingested by caterpillars, the bacterial toxins disrupt and completely stop normal digestive functions, causing larvae to cease feeding immediately and die within two to five days.

B.t. has no effect on birds, earthworms, or beneficial insects such as honeybees and ladybugs when used as directed.
